Engineer I - Water/Wastewater
Overview
Now accepting applications for December 2024 and May 2025 graduates. Under the guidance of a licensed engineer (P.E.) and as a member of a project team, this position will design infrastructure for water/wastewater projects.
Responsibilities
Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers in the planning and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Create and run electronic hydraulic models for water and sewer systems, including static and extended period simulations as needed.
Maintain a database of utility service agreements, including status.
Prepare governmental permitting packages and follow-up to Requests-for-Additional information for same.
Maintain permitting logs for large-scale projects.
Provide design services for small wastewater treatment facilities.
Assist in coordinating multiple sub-consultants to ensure timely delivery of final design products.
Provide initial review of contractor submittal against contract specifications.
Maintain contractor submittal logs for on-going construction projects.
Assist in providing technical documents for obtaining rights-of-entry as well as maintaining easement acquisition logs.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
Familiar with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
Previous experience in water and wastewater planning,design and/or construction through internship experience is preferred; not required.
Engineering coursework focused on water/wastewater/environmental engineering.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
Previous experience with databases and ArcGIS is preferred but not required.
Previous experience with right-of-entry and utility relocations is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in InfoWorks®, InfoWater®, WaterCAD® or SewerCAD® a plus.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.
Flexibility in managing job tasks as deadlines and priorities change.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Word and MS Excel.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime.
Must be reliable and dependable.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with databases and ArcGIS is preferred but not required.

Experience in InfoWorks®, InfoWater®, WaterCAD® or SewerCAD® a plus.
