Chemical Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

Job Description:

The Chemical Engineer will lead the development and optimization of chemical processes and materials used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role involves designing and refining chemical delivery systems, working with plasma etching, deposition processes, and other semiconductor-specific technologies. As a technical leader, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure process efficiency, reliability, and safety, while mentoring junior engineers and driving innovation in chemical applications for advanced semiconductor equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development of novel chemical processes for advanced semiconductor equipment, particularly in deposition, etching, and cleaning technologies.
  2. Drive innovation in materials interactions and chemical processes to meet the demands of next-generation semiconductor devices.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and process development, to ensure effective integration of chemical solutions.
  4. Oversee R&D of new chemistries for ALD, CVD, etching, and cleaning in semiconductor processes.
  5. Manage the development of CVD/ALD precursors and etchants for high-volume semiconductor production.
  6. Lead projects, manage resources, timelines, and ensure high-quality chemical solutions that meet customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields.
  • Experience at companies such as AMAT, LAM, or TEL is a plus.

Preferred:

  1. Extensive hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment, including etching and deposition tools.
  2. Published research in semiconductor chemical engineering or presentations at industry conferences.
  3. Knowledge of sustainable chemistry practices in semiconductor manufacturing.
  4. Strong industry connections within the semiconductor equipment sector.
