What You'll Do
- Assist in configuring and maintaining Variable Frequency Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers, Instrumentation, Process computers and related equipment
- Specify, install, configure, and scale field devices including motors, accelerometers, RTDs, loads cells, pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, valve positioners
- Develop PLC and HMI programming for new equipment, upgrades and improvement projects
- Support operations and maintenance as needed with troubleshooting and monitoring
- Proactively seek new automation solutions to improve safety, quality and productivity
What You'll Need
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical controls and reading electrical schematics
- Advanced knowledge of AC/DC motor and control theory
- Experience with troubleshooting and developing Allen-Bradley Panelview and Intouch-Wonderware HMIs, Ignition SCADA and other control systems
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team with appropriate departments/individuals
- General knowledge of Steel Mill Process is a plus
- Basic understanding of databases and Level II system interfaces with Level 1 PLC systems and HMIs
Your Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two year technical degree from an accredited school or college preferred
