Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Athena Manufacturing, you will play a crucial role in optimizing production processes and ensuring the efficiency of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing systems while adhering to quality standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing customer drawings/data-packages to determine the manufacturing processes and sequences, tooling/fixturing requirements, and design-for-manufacturability improvements required to meet all internal and customer requirements
  • 90% of work expected to be build-to-print, and 10% is internally designed parts for both internal and external use
  • Generating supplemental documentation past customer data consisting of detailed CAD shop-aid prints, internal BOMs and routings in ERP (Made2Manage)
  • Organizing both internal and external data using proper configuration management
  • Authoring and revising internal processes with a lean manufacturing mindset
  • Coordinating and collaborating with neighboring departments including Fabrication, Machining, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Training

Ideal Candidate Skills:

  • Well versed in manufacturing methods for sheet-metal design and forming, machining, welding, assembly, common materials, and common finishes
  • Experience with generating detail and assembly level drafts per common ASME Y14 standards and configuration management for AS9100D registered company
  • Well versed with CAD design/drafting methods with Sheet Metal Packages
  • SolidWorks strongly preferred
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software packages
  • Detail oriented, continuous improvement mindset, above average technical writing skills, experience with manual fabrication methods or CNC machining a plus

Experience/Education Minimum Requirements:

  • With bachelor’s degree: 2 years' experience, and
  • Preferred degrees: Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, or Industrial Engineering

OR

  • Without bachelor’s degree: 5 years' experience, and
  • Significant experience with SolidWorks, fabrication, machining, machine programming needed in place of degree.
