Summer Intern - Civil Engineering

What you'll be challenged to do:

The Houston office is looking for a part time, summer intern to help with a variety of projects encompassing several different aspects of civil engineering.  Intern will be responsible for assisting project engineers and project managers with design and administrative tasks.

 Copies sketches, layouts, and drawings prepared by others on to CAD.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):

 

  • Assist staff with routine engineering tasks as assigned
  • Provide weekly status updates
  • Conduct field investigations and data collection
  • Assist with plan production
  • Assists in the preparation of various transportation engineering projects, including design and analysis.
  • Gathers engineering data from a variety of sources.
  • Identifies design criteria
  • Evaluates existing and proposed geometric conditions.
  • Participates in site visits, project investigations and project meetings.
  • Provides design efforts that adhere to quality and schedule requirements
  • Assists in preparing and reviewing engineering reports and exhibits
  • Assists in developing preliminary quantities and cost estimates

 

What you bring to our firm:

 

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering field
  • Candidate must be a junior or senior when starting the Fall 2023 Semester.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
