PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assists principal in providing the vision and leadership to promote and sustain high academic achievement for all students and successfully carry out the implementation of the District’s strategic plan; exhibits thorough knowledge and practice of instructional leadership rules and regulations pertaining to instructional and assessment programs; displays proficiency in the integration of instruction technology; demonstrates operational and financial acumen; deals sensitively and responsibly with the community, central office departments, and all internal and external customers and stakeholders.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must possess (or meet qualifications for) a Georgia certificate in Leadership or must hold Master’s degree in another education field with completion of and Educational Leadership program within three (3) years will be considered. Minimum three (3) years of successful educational experience.

Assumes responsibility for the school in absence of the principal
2.
Assists in the enforcement of policies concerning student discipline and attendance
3.
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
4.
Keeps the principal apprised of activities, situations, and developments that affect the school operation
5.
Assists in the supervision, observation, and evaluation of staff.
6.
Assists with directing and improving curriculum and instruction.
7.
Assists with the organization and implementation of staff development.
8.
Assists in the supervision of the extracurricular program.
9.
Assists with safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of students.
10.
Supervises student activities, assemblies, and other activities.
11.
Assists with the maintenance and operations of the school facility.
12.
Assists in organizing student activities.
13.
Assists with the supervision of student orientation, registration, and scheduling.
14.
Assists with the administration and supervision of the total school program in accordance with applicable regulations
15.
Assists with the financial operation of the school as needed.
16.
Serves as a member of facilitator of the District Student Disciplinary Due Process Hearing panels, as needed.

Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Leadership ability in supervising personnel; ability to plan an effective and economical bus service; some mechanical aptitude as related to the operation and maintenance of vehicles; a thorough knowledge of highway and vehicle safety; understanding and appreciation of the total school program.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other personnel, and parents.
- Ability to supervise people effectively.
- Ability to present information to individuals and groups.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires mostly sitting, standing, and walking. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and kneeling are required, with weights not normally to exceed thirty (30) pounds. Must be able to tolerate all types of weather conditions and must work outside on occasion.
