Engineering Intern
JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Internship at Reotemp Instruments offers an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering (or a closely related field). This temporary position, lasting between three months to one year with the possibility of extension, provides hands-on experience in the Manufacturing & Engineering departments. The internship allows for flexible scheduling, requiring 16-24 hours of work per week.
Below is a list of potential projects and areas of focus for the intern. It's important to note that these responsibilities may evolve as the intern position adapts to the changing needs of the engineering department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engineering Support:
- Collaborate with engineers to develop product blueprints and fixturing drawings.
- Perform revisions to CAD drawings as needed.
- Work closely with production employees to create written work procedures detailing build processes.
- Capture assembly techniques and critical quality decisions through video documentation.
- Assist the machining and engineering teams in designing and constructing shop fixtures to enhance production efficiency.
- Contribute to inventory control and material flow optimization.
- Play a role in product data acquisition and support R&D testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrollment in a mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering program (or closely related field of study).
- Basic CAD knowledge, with a preference for experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
INTERESTS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MIGHT POSSESS:
- Familiarity with drafting rules and conventions.
- Mechanical inclination and a passion for working on cars or building things.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, construction, or related environment.
- Interest in programming and working with microcontrollers (Arduino).
- Knowledge of 5S, kanbans, or other lean tools/systems.
