Physical Scientist/Biological Scientist/Env Engineer (Career-Ladder Gov Position)

  1. Develop skill sets to become an Environmental Support Manager (ESM) for the Environmental Service and Support Division (ESSD), US Army Environmental Command (USAEC) and consultant on environmental service requirements at assigned installations within the ESSD Region.
  2. Supports the Division Chief, Division Team Leads, or senior ESMs with installation restoration/contaminated site cleanup in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  3. Assists with preparing statements of work to execute the required investigations, remedial designs or remedial actions.
  4. Executes and tracks projects and support requests for assigned installations and ensures on-time delivery of service to the customer.
  5. Expand technical knowledge by participating in installation specific activities such as Environmental Performance Assessment Plan (EPAS) audits, planning charrettes, Army Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) reviews at assigned installations.
  6. Stays apprised of federal, state, and army regulations and policies, and potential environmental impacts to Army operations and training.
  7. Conduct trainings to become a Contracting Officers Representative (COR).

THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED AT THE GRADE OF GS-07.  AFTER COMPLETION OF DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM (3 YEARS), CANDIDATE MAY BE NON-COMPETIVELY PROMOTED TO THE GRADE OF GS-12.
