Designer/Drafter - Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Systems

JOB DESCRIPTION:
AMPED mep Engineering, an established MEP consulting engineering firm specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection design, is currently in need of a capable CAD Designer to become a team member and grow along with our firm. Even though this is an immediate need, we are looking for someone who is interested in making a long-term career decision in a 100% remote, work from anywhere environment. Someone who wants to keep learning and growing and will take pride in being a member of this team. This individual will do their part to maintain the positive, friendly, and collaborative atmosphere that leadership has worked hard to establish and maintain.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• AutoCAD proficient by knowing how to create and modify different types of objects and 2D drawing elements
• Autodesk REVIT experience (a plus)
• Interest in general construction, building systems, and commercial developments
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Located in the Austin Metro area

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparing construction documents including plans, calculations, compile product data, specifications and  equipment schedules.
• Position will work across all MEP disciplines on a wide variety of commercial and industrial projects
• Working closely with Engineers and project team members in order to efficiently achieve project goals.
• Provide competent design ideas and solutions.
• Positive independent work ethic to ensure remote work arrangement is productive and sustainable.
• Confidence in your ability to learn and the desire to be a team player.
• Aptitude to learn, maintain and apply knowledge of pertinent software, building systems and building codes.
• Deadline punctuality and ownership of assigned responsibilities is critical.

EXPECTATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position will be a full-time position. Position will primarily work in a home office setting with occasional site visits.
• The employee will likely be required to sit at a desk and look at computer monitors for much of the day. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may also be required. During site visits, it is possible that the employee would be engaged in the following activities:
• Long periods of standing or walking along with stair climbing.
• Climbing vertical or freestanding ladders, holding on to the top rung with one hand and lifting a ceiling tile or opening the roof hatch with the other, while carrying flashlights, tools, drawings, a camera, and/or other items.
• Maneuvering around ductwork and piping in equipment utility rooms and mechanical mezzanines.
• Using tools to open equipment access doors.
• Walking on roofs, catwalks, and over parapets.
 
SALARY:   
• Salary commensurate with experience
• Based on 26 Pay Periods per year
