Engineering Process Technician, Can Stamping

Position Description

Tesla is seeking energetic and highly motivated Engineering Process Technicians to join our production team. This position is a key member of the process development, implementation and improvement teams focused on developing innovative processes, equipment, and tooling to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. You will have the opportunity to contribute to both process development and equipment improvement. A strong drive to learn new skills and acquire knowledge will enhance your ability to support production. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with both maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to sustain and improve on key process metrics
  • Develop, improve and train to Manufacturing Instructions for equipment or new processes in standard format. This requires intimate, hands-on knowledge of the processes
  • Perform equipment setup, operation, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards for equipment in varying development stages
  • Identify problems and potential solutions to troubleshoot issues in both maintenance and production as they arise, through SPC or other data analysis
  • Inspect and test finished product during and after production runs
  • Support engineering activities including process and equipment validations. Document and present results of production and quality in a clear and concise manner
  • Assemble and test manufactured goods for dedicated tooling and or processes
  • Conduct analytical tests, measure and record data using defined tools and software. Participate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, output, and tool uptime

Requirements

  • Experience with operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
  • Proficiency with power tools and good motor skills.
  • Experience interpreting SPC, Process Capability, and Gauge R&R. Knowledge in SQL, Python A, robotic programing
  • Knowledge in basic material fabrication: 3 axis mill, lathe
  • Knowledge in SolidWorks 3D CAD and GD&T 
  • Internship experience in Manufacturing
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
