About Our Internship Program
Throughout the course of the internship, interns either work on-site or virtually and have regular events, weekly lunch and learn session and receive training customized by our business units. This unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and Globally. The interns will understand first-hand what a career at Stanley Black & Decker is like and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Additional social activities are planned throughout the internship period to provide opportunity to network with SBD professionals. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity and self-confidence. Interns must be team oriented and able to work collaboratively.
Industrial & Packaging Design Interns will have exposure to several areas of Product Design and Packaging Design at Stanley Black & Decker and will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross functional team of professionals including Global Customer Experience and Marketing, Tool & Design Engineering.
During your internship you will have the opportunity to support Industrial & Packaging Design Internship with key activities including:
- Designing for product or packaging graphic development and digital application projects.
- Contribute to product or packaging development in a team format via ideation/sketching/rendering of new product concepts.
- Advising the development of strong interaction and visual designs, participating, and learning about design best practices, user testing and experience research.
This position will provide you with:

- Rising Junior or Senior, Target graduation date in 2025 or 2026
Working towards a bachelor’s degree in these related areas of study:
- Packaging Design / Packaging Engineering
- Industrial Design
- HCI or related degree
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro and working knowledge of CAD in either full parametric or surfacing software.
- Strong Academic Credentials
- Successfully manage strong academics with extracurricular activities.
