State Executive Assistant

Major Duties
In support of the agency’s Executive Office, Supporting Foundation, and HR Division, the ideal candidate will: 
  • Manage general administrative tasks including data management, light bookkeeping, compiling of meeting materials and coordination of projects, events, and travel.
  • Assist General Counsel with administrative rules, open meeting filings, and Public Information Act requests. 
  • Provide general customer service; fielding and responding to general public inquiries.
  • Prepare correspondence;  writing and editing internal and external communications.
  • Handle additional administrative duties as required to support the work of the agency.
 
What are we looking for:
  • Required:
  • 2+ years experience providing advanced professional administrative support at the executive level. 
  • Advanced level communication and writing skills.
  • High proficiency in use of  MS Office Applications and general office equipment.
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree (coursework in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field)
  • 2+ years experience working with and responding to the public 
  • Experience working with databases, i.e. People Soft / CAPPS
  • A current Certified Texas Notary Public
  • Experience working in a legal environment
  • Previous State experience, including coordinating State travel.

About this position
  • Rate: $24.50 per/hour.
  • Length of engagement: Through 8/31/23 with potential for assignment extension and permanent placement.
  • Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Location: Austin, 78701.
