Process Engineer

Role: Process Engineer

Location: Waterbury, CT

Duration: Long Term

Description
  • Review of PFDs, UFDs, Process P&IDs, Utility P&IDs (Utility Generation and Distribution)
  • Preparation of Equipment List, Line List etc.
  • Preparation of equipment datasheet and specification for utility
  • Preparation of process control philosophy, Interlock description and input for operation sequence logic
  • Ensure compliance with job specification, design methods and safety factors are correctly applied in the design.
  • Interface with EL project execution team, design firms, equipment vendors, construction contractors to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Protect the EL's interests by ensuring that the technical and build contractors are adhering to the project specification.
  • Participate/coordinate design reviews, Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, vendor bid evaluations, project readiness reviews and approval of detailed design documents.
  • Technical bid evaluation and finalization including pre-bid queries, furnishing replies to bidders, bid clarification meetings, preparation of technical bid evaluation report for process equipment and utility packages.
  • Review of engineering documents developed by design contractors to ensure that the plant is designed in accordance with technical specification, operational and safety aspects, reliability and ease of maintenance and sound engineering practices.
  • Participant of factory acceptance test in Japan, Europe, or America once travel allows, scrutiny of test certificates, inspection reports against relevant contract specifications/ approved drawing.
  • Witness performance testing and commissioning activities, field testing for performance of major equipment and systems and provide technical assistance to EL for-performance guarantee testing.
  • Provide engineering support to project execution team which includes ensuring correct interpretation of engineering drawings at site, troubleshooting engineering related issues at site.
  • Monitor project progress, issue periodical progress report, preparation of outstanding punch points, schedule for their completion.
