Fine Arts Library Evening Supervisor - Fine Arts Library Evening

Summary of Job Duties:

This position serves as the evening supervisor of the Fine Arts Library, functioning as the lead worker of part-time hourly personnel in the absence of the supervisor and the director. The position processes course reserves, provides public service to patrons, processes new materials, records statistics, assists with special projects, and maintains the collection. The position reports to the Fine Arts Library Supervisor.

Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Adjusted in Summer to Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Varies in intersessions. 40 hours/week.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

At least one year of experience in library or customer services or a related field plus an additional combined two years of experience in a related field or college education

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education

Relevant library experience

Experience with bibliographic databases, library catalogs, and the circulation module of an integrated library system, preferably Alma

Experience with processing and maintaining print and digital course reserves

Experience with Springshare applications (LibApps)

Education or work experience in the visual arts or related disciplines

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Basic knowledge of copyright

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Excellent interpersonal skills

Demonstrated strong commitment to public service

Ability to perform detail-oriented work with accuracy

Ability to work independently

Ability to multi-task


Salary Information:

Minimum salary: $36,300, commensurate with education and experience
