JOB SUMMARY:
The Research Manager (RM) helps to manage consumer survey research projects, design surveys and experiments, program surveys and check programs, collect data, analyze data, and write and proofread reports. Success in this position requires consumer survey research experience, keen attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will have a completed Master’s, MBA, or Bachelor’s degree and will also have professional work experience in survey research, consulting, or marketing. Strong writing skills, experience writing survey reports, journalism experience, or other professional writing experience is preferred.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design surveys and experiments: help to write questionnaires, develop sampling criteria, and conduct background research
- Program surveys: help to program questionnaires (Qualtrics experience preferred), check programs, and coordinate with programming vendors
- Collect data: help to manage sampling using DIY platforms and coordinate with sample vendors
- Analyze data: help to code responses to open-ended questions, tabulate data (experience with R, SPSS, or other analysis software preferred)
- Write reports: help to write and proofread reports that clearly and concisely explain the research methodology, key findings, and conclusions
- Manage research projects: help to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Manage other assigned projects and administrative duties
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Professional experience in survey research, marketing, consumer psychology, and/or sensory science
- Strong data analysis skills, including experience using R, SPSS, or other statistical analysis software
- Experience programming questionnaires in Qualtrics or other survey programming software
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and colleagues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing skills, experience writing survey reports, journalism experience, or other professional writing experience is preferred
- Acute attention to detail, including the ability to identify and resolve complex problems
EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s, MBA, or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, sensory science, or a research-based social science, such as psychology, communications, or political science
LOCATION:
- This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones
