Production Engineering Intern

June - August 2019 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

The company has a great atmosphere and I really enjoy the people I worked with. This was my second summer there and I can see they are really trying to improve their internship program. There are plenty of opportunities to take tours and see what the company has to offer. The pay was fantastic (what they pay full-time engineers) and they also offer interns full benefits so I got sick days, vacation days, healthcare, and retirement matching. I was given plenty of responsibility and was able to do real work for the company. I have several things that I have designed out on the F-15 production line. It really felt like I was contributing to the company.

What I wish was different

The internship program is a little confusing because they often don't communicate very well. That being said, they have clearly improved things in the past year and I can imagine it will be even better in the future.

Advice

Apply early. There are a few applications for various types of internships at Boeing on their jobs website.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May 2019 • Huntsville, AL

What I liked

I had just taken a CAD class and I was able to jump right into practical use with it. Everybody was very kind and open to help out or give advice. I was able to learn alot in a short amount of time.

What I wish was different

There were some cooler projects I wish I could've been apart off but they were for older students with more experience.

Advice

I honestly had no idea about Boeing's pdt program until a friend introduced me to it so I would say do alot of research and there are alot of opportunities hidden.

Integral Fuel-Cell Mechanic

November 2018 • Renton, WA

What I liked

Great to learn how the aircraft assembly process intertwines with human factors, suppliers, and mechanical knowledge.

What I wish was different

Absolutely nothing.

Advice

Keep an open mind: You will not be perfect at first, and you will be the "dumb one" on the team for quite some time. However, if you stay determined you will one day be comfortable with it.

Flight Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Everett, WA

What I liked

Boeing did a fantastic job at giving me meaningful assignments as well as providing mentoring throughout my internship experience. They encouraged me to network, learn what other departments were doing, and attend Boeing-sponsored classes (not paid, outside of work hours) to learn more about every technical subject imaginable. It was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to others.

Guidance and Control Engineer

January - July 2019 • St. Charles, MO

What I liked

The experience, as a whole, was an amazing experience. The benefits that Boeing provides, even to their interns, are astronomical. The pay was good, the environment was great.

What I wish was different

They didn't really cater much to a cooperative intern. They focused way more heavily on their summer interns when they came in. Felt a little outcasted as a spring cooperative.

Advice

Definitely attempt a position with Boeing.

Procurement Intern

May - July 2019 • Everett, WA

What I liked

Management was very supportive and helpful to my growth and development professionally. The product is absolutely amazing. Allowed to just walk into the factory and on the planes when you have free time. Great people to work with and an awesome company.

What I wish was different

Not much. Returning for a second internship is a little challenging as new interns are extended offers first.

Advice

Don't be afraid to talk to other employees for help. Managers are busy and while they are helpful, you might only talk to them a few minutes every week. There's lots of smart and experienced people here, ask them for help? Also, make sure to talk to other employees in other roles. There are so many opportunities here and talking to different people is the best way to find them!

International Accounting Intern

May - August 2019 • Renton, WA

What I liked

I liked that I was able to move to Washington for the summer and experience life on the west coast. I also liked the whole intern process. After getting hired we were able to interview managers to see what team we wanted to be on. Lastly I liked how they treated us interns we had a lot of work to do but we were also strongly encouraged to network with other managers and other interns through different meeting and programs Boeing hosted during the summer.

What I wish was different

I don’t wish that anything was different O really enjoyed my time working at Boeing and are hoping that I get an offer to come back.

Advice

Boeing is very intern friendly and all of the people there are really intrigued by your background and goals you have. They will also assist you in those goals. This summer I expanded my professional networking tremendously.
